We're first introduced to Gohan as a whimpy little kid who can't fight. In the first movie he gets kiddnapped by Garlic Jr.'s minions, and ulitimatly his power shows itself and he throws Garlic Jr. into the "Dead Zone".

While in the series, he's again kiddnapped, this time by his uncle Radditz to get Goku to kill the humans, Gohan gets locked into his uncles space pod. Nice guy eh? Radditz is the first to see how strong Gohan is when his scouter says Gohan's PL is over 700. Radditz thinks his scouter is broken then sees that it's not when it pics up Son Gokou and Piccolo. Ultimatly, Son Gohan busts out of Radditz pod (Literaly), shocking everyone and headbutts Radditz giving Son Gokou and Piccolo the oppertunity to defeat Radditz. His PL at this point ranges from 1-1,307.

After the battle, Son Goku and Radditz lie dead and Piccolo takes Son Gohan to train him for the arrival of the saiyajins. First Son Gohan is left to fend for himself, even though we see Piccolo has a heart and drops him an apple, and sees his first full moon. He changes to his Oozaru form and does alot of damage, until Piccolo destroys the moon and removes his tail. Then one night while training with Piccolo, he sees a projection of the moon from Kakarrot's space pod and transforms again beating up Piccolo until he blasts the pod with his SBC and removes Gohan's tail, again.

Nappa and Vejiita arrive and Piccolo takes Son Gohan to fight them. Tenshinhan, Yamcha, Krillin and Chozu. Yajarobi helps out later in the fight when Vejiita is Oozaru. Son Gohan doesn't fight until after the Saibamen, and Piccolo scarafises himself to save him. Son Gokou comes back and heals Son Gohan and Kuririn, the soul survivors, and tells them to leave the battle. Son Gokou defeats Nappa and he and Vejiita pretty much beat each other down. Then Son Gohan comes back and Vejiita went Oozaru and is pummling Son Gokou. After Vejiita's tail is cut off by Yajarobi, Son Gohan's tail grows back and he then turns Oozaru and defeats Vejiita. PL-981, 9,810 transformed.

Since Piccolo and Kami-san where spiritually bonded, and Piccolo died, Kami vanishes and the Dragonballs are useless. The gang learn that there is a set of them on Namek (Kami's home world) and set out for there Kami's ship. Gon Gohan leaves with Bulma and Kuririn. The run into some kids in a spaceship, and some weird little aliens, but nothing much more. When they get to Namek, Freiza is already there and Vejiita arrives around the sametime. Both found out about the dragonballs and are after them. Freiza sends two henchmen after Son Gohan and Kuririn. They're easily defeated by the two, one hit each. PL 1,500.

Afterwords, the duo scout around and come across Freiza and his men attacking a Namek village. Son Gohan gets REALLY pist and when Dudoria is about to blast a kid. He flies down and kicks the pink alien into a building and yells "Take that ya big pink peice of putty" in the english dub, something much worse in the original. Kuririn grabs the kid and they leave with Dudoria in pursuit. Ultimately they get away and Dudoria is killed by Vejiita. PL still 1,500.

Kuririn takes Dende (The Namek kid they saved) to the oldest Namek and gets a Dragonball and a power up. He loses the dragonball to Vejiita, and Son Gohan grabs the one Vejiita hid in the lake. Son Gohan gets kneed by Vejiita and then takes the dragonball to Bulma and Kuririn. Kuririn takes him to see the "Eldest Namek" who gives him a power up too. PL- 10,000+

Vejiita finds them outside and is in a rage about Son Gohan stealing the dragonball. Then the Ginyu Force arrives and the three team up. Gerudo is the first of the Ginyu Force to fight and comes close to defeating Kuririn and Son Gohan, but Vejiita saves them and kills Gerudo.

Rikum is next and pretty much beats the piss outta the three of them until Son Gokou arrives on Namek and defeats him in one hit. Then he heals Vejiita, Kuririn and Son Gohan and defeats Burter.
